Description
Selank research peptide
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide based on tuftsin (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg), a naturally occurring tetrapeptide. A C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro extension makes it more resistant to enzymatic breakdown than tuftsin itself. In the laboratory it is studied in research on neuropeptide signalling, including GABAergic pathways, enkephalin-degrading enzymes and BDNF expression in experimental models.
Supplied as a lyophilised powder in a 10mg vial. Selank is not a licensed medicine in the UK. We supply it strictly as a research reagent.

Storage and handling
Store the lyophilised powder at −20 °C, sealed and protected from light and moisture. Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening to limit condensation. Prepare solutions according to your laboratory’s validated protocols, using appropriate PPE. Bacteriostatic water is available separately for laboratory use.
Frequently asked questions
What is Selank?
Selank is a synthetic seven-amino-acid peptide (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro). It is an analogue of tuftsin, a natural tetrapeptide, extended with a Pro-Gly-Pro sequence that makes it more resistant to enzymatic breakdown. It is studied in vitro in research on neuropeptide signalling.
How is Selank related to tuftsin?
Tuftsin is the tetrapeptide Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg. Selank keeps this sequence and adds Pro-Gly-Pro at the C-terminus. The added residues are studied for their effect on the peptide’s stability in biological media.
What is Selank studied for in the laboratory?
Selank is studied in research models of GABAergic signalling, the activity of enkephalin-degrading enzymes and the expression of signalling molecules such as BDNF. All of this work is pre-clinical and carried out in controlled laboratory settings.
What is the Selank sequence?
The sequence is Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro. Its molecular formula is C33H57N11O9, with a molecular weight of about 751.9 g/mol.
What purity is your Selank?
Every batch is purity tested by Janoshik, an independent laboratory, using HPLC before it is released for sale.
How should Selank be stored?
Store the lyophilised powder sealed at −20 °C, protected from light and moisture. Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening. Stability in solution should be validated within your own laboratory protocol.
Do you ship Selank from the UK?
Yes. Orders placed before 3PM UK time, Monday to Friday, are normally dispatched the same day by Royal Mail Tracked 24. See our Shipping Policy.
Do you provide dosing or usage advice?
No. Selank is supplied for in vitro laboratory research only. We do not provide dosage, administration or medical advice of any kind.
Research use only. This product is supplied strictly for in vitro laboratory research. It is not for human or animal use, and not for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. By purchasing, you agree to our Research Use Disclaimer.
