Description
TB-500 (thymosin beta-4) research peptide
TB-500 is the name commonly used for synthetic thymosin beta-4 (Tβ4), a peptide of 43 amino acids with an acetylated N-terminus. Thymosin beta-4 is one of the main G-actin-sequestering peptides found in cells, and its central LKKTETQ motif is the region most closely linked to actin binding. In the laboratory it is studied in research on actin dynamics, cytoskeletal organisation and in vitro cell migration models.
Supplied as a lyophilised powder in a 10mg vial. TB-500 is not a licensed medicine in the UK. We supply it strictly as a research reagent.

Storage and handling
Store the lyophilised powder at −20 °C, sealed and protected from light and moisture. Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening to limit condensation. Prepare solutions according to your laboratory’s validated protocols, using appropriate PPE. Bacteriostatic water is available separately for laboratory use.
Frequently asked questions
What is TB-500?
TB-500 is the name commonly used for synthetic thymosin beta-4 (Tβ4), a 43-amino-acid peptide with an acetylated N-terminus. It is one of the main G-actin-binding peptides in cells and is studied in vitro in research on actin dynamics and cell migration.
Is TB-500 the same as thymosin beta-4?
Our TB-500 is the full 43-amino-acid thymosin beta-4 sequence, identified as TB-500 (TB-4) in independent testing by Janoshik. Some suppliers use the name TB-500 for a short fragment (residues 17–23) instead, so it is worth checking the molecular weight of any material you source.
What is the LKKTETQ motif?
LKKTETQ (residues 17–23) is the central actin-binding region of thymosin beta-4. It is studied as the part of the sequence most closely linked to the peptide’s interaction with G-actin.
Is TB-500 the same as thymosin alpha-1?
No. They come from different thymosin families. Thymosin beta-4 has 43 amino acids and is studied in actin research, while thymosin alpha-1 has 28 amino acids and is studied in immune signalling research.
What is the TB-500 sequence?
The sequence is Ac-SDKPDMAEIEKFDKSKLKKTETQEKNPLPSKETIEQEKQAGES-OH. Its molecular formula is C212H350N56O78S, with a molecular weight of about 4963.4 g/mol.
What purity is your TB-500?
Every batch is purity tested by Janoshik, an independent laboratory, using HPLC before it is released for sale. The test report is shown in the product images.
How should TB-500 be stored?
Store the lyophilised powder sealed at −20 °C, protected from light and moisture. Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening. Stability in solution should be validated within your own laboratory protocol.
Do you ship TB-500 from the UK?
Yes. Orders placed before 3PM UK time, Monday to Friday, are normally dispatched the same day by Royal Mail Tracked 24. See our Shipping Policy.
Do you provide dosing or usage advice?
No. TB-500 is supplied for in vitro laboratory research only. We do not provide dosage, administration or medical advice of any kind.
Research use only. This product is supplied strictly for in vitro laboratory research. It is not for human or animal use, and not for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. By purchasing, you agree to our Research Use Disclaimer.
